One of the most popular and entertaining social media apps that you can find nowadays is TikTok. It has garnered a lot of attention and also received criticism because some of the content is not considered appropriate for youngsters. You have to be 13 or above to sign up on the app and while it does not require you to verify your age when doing so, you will be asked to prove your age if you want to change it.
You can easily change your username on TikTok, but changing your age is a bit more complex because you have to ask their support team for help. If your birth date is inaccurate, it is possible that your account may be shut down and you do not want to do that. But, how do you contact TikTok’s customer support? You start by opening the app and clicking on the Profile option that you will see on the bottom right.
The top right corner will have a 3-line icon that you should tap. The bottom menu opens up and you have to choose Settings and Privacy. Scroll down to the Support option and choose Report a Problem. Under Topics, you will find Account and Profile and tapping it gives you the Editing Profile option. Now, you tap on Other and then choose Need more Help.
This will take you to a form that you have to fill with your request. You need to share your dilemma with the support team here and request them for updating your birth date on your TikTok account. Wait for a couple of days and you will get an email from their team, asking you to provide proof of age. This can be done by sharing your ID card, or passport, and as long as it is authentic, your age will be altered.
