Canada is a hotbed of entrepreneurial activity. The country has a booming tech sector, a growing interest in cryptocurrencies, and a reputation as an international leader in education and research. Plus, Canada’s proximity to the United States means that many Canadian businesses have easy access to American markets. But if you’re looking to start your own business or are already running one in Canada, how do you go about acquiring permanent residency? It depends on whether your business is eligible for one of these four programs:
The Federal Start-Up Visa Program
The Federal Start-up Visa Program is a new way to bring foreign entrepreneurs and business owners to Canada. It’s designed for those who want to start their own business in Canada, but there are also other benefits.
- What is the Federal Start-up Visa Program?
The program allows foreign entrepreneurs or business owners who have at least $200,000 in either personal net worth or investment funds from an angel investor group or venture capital fund to apply for permanent residence (PR).
Who can apply?
If you plan on starting your own business in Canada, Canada Investor Immigration may be the right option for you! If you meet all of these requirements:
- You must have at least $200,000 in either personal net worth or investment funds from an angel investor group or venture capital fund.
- You must be able to prove that this money will help grow your business idea into a successful company over time so that it creates jobs and contributes positively towards Canada’s economy
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program
If you are a business owner and want to immigrate to Canada, Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is the way to go. The Province of Manitoba is part of Canada’s Express Entry stream of immigration which means that it accepts applications through the federal government’s express entry system.
In addition to applying as a provincial nominee under the regular program, there are two other streams specifically designed for business owners and entrepreneurs:
- Business Investor stream
- Business Investor Entrepreneur stream
Canada Has Multiple Programs For Entrepreneurs And Business Owners Looking To Immigrate
Canada has several programs that can help you immigrate if you plan to start a business or buy and run a business.
There are two federal programs for entrepreneurs and business owners:
- The Start-up Visa Program (SVP) helps foreign entrepreneurs with an innovative idea who want to start their own businesses in Canada. You’ll need to be accepted into this program before coming to Canada. After three years, if your business has created enough jobs, it may qualify for permanent residence under the SVP program’s Entrepreneur Stream.
- The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) allows skilled workers from other countries who have experience working in Canada on temporary work permits or as full-time students at Canadian universities or colleges for one year within four years of applying for permanent residence status through this program.
Canada is a country that welcomes entrepreneurs and business owners from all over the world. The Canadian government has multiple programs available to help entrepreneurs immigrate, including Quebec programs. It’s important for immigrants to do their homework before applying for any immigration program because each program has different requirements and processes.
